🌾 Let’s Celebrate the Season: Host a “Scatter and Harvest” Event in Your Community! 🍂
As the leaves start to turn and the air becomes crisper, there’s no better time to come together and celebrate the bounty of the season. The Access to Food Partnership invites YOU—our local heroes, community champions, and creative thinkers—to join in our shared seasonal campaign:
🍎 Scatter and Harvest – A Celebration of Local, Seasonal Food 🍠
Running from mid-August to 11 October 2025, Scatter and Harvest is all about putting food, fun, and community at the heart of what we do. Whether you’re a local group, school, community kitchen, or just someone who loves bringing people together, this is your chance to host a harvest-themed event that celebrates local produce and the joy of sharing a meal.
🎉 What Could Your Scatter and Harvest Event Look Like?
We’re encouraging both new ideas and harvest-themed twists on existing events. Whether you want to run something big or small, we want to hear about it!
Here are just a few ideas to inspire you:
🌿 Forage and Crumble – Head out to gather wild berries or apples and turn them into delicious crumbles.
🎃 Pumpkin Pie Bake-Off – Invite locals to compete in a friendly pie competition. Sell slices to raise funds!
🍲 Seasonal Casserole Canteen – Serve warming stews and soups made with fresh, local veggies.
🍏 Apple Pressing Party – Bring in your windfalls and turn them into fresh apple juice.
🧼 Conker Soap Workshop – Learn to make eco-friendly washing powder from seasonal finds.
🍅 Jam & Chutney Making – Rescue gluts of fruit and veg and transform them into tasty preserves.
🌱 Plant & Plate – Grow beans or squash now, then serve up a hearty stew using what you’ve grown.
The possibilities are endless – all you need is a sprinkle of imagination and a spoonful of community spirit.
