Digital Skills Hub Launches Free Computer Courses to Boost Digital Literacy
The Digital Skills Hub is excited to announce a range of free computer courses designed to help individuals of all skill levels enhance their digital abilities.
Located in Boscombe, the Hub offers a friendly and patient learning environment for anyone looking to improve their tech skills.
The “Digital Discovery” program includes courses for beginners, intermediate learners, and those looking to advance their existing knowledge.
- Beginner Courses cover basic online and Windows 11 computer skills, security, employability, and online money-saving advice. Classes are held on Thursdays from 10 AM to 1 PM, with five-week sessions running from May 8th to June 5th and June 12th to July 10th.
- Intermediate Courses focus on developing more advanced skills and exploring valuable online tools to improve daily life. These sessions take place on Mondays from 10 AM to 1 PM, with course dates set for May 12th to June 16th and June 23rd to July 21st.
- Intermediate Plus Courses are designed to build on existing knowledge, boost confidence, and unlock new ways to work smarter online. Classes are held on Wednesdays from 10 AM to 1 PM, with the first five-week session running from May 28th to June 25th. Additional dates will be announced soon.
In addition to the main courses, the Digital Skills Hub also offers:
- Tech Taster Sessions: These three-hour introductory sessions, presented by Dr. Phil Wilkinson, provide an overview of specific tech tools or platforms. The first session, “AI For Everyday Life,” will be held on May 21st from 10 AM to 1 PM.
- Tech Surgery: A one-on-one service to help individuals resolve technical issues with their personal devices. Participants can bring in their phones or laptops to receive assistance in optimizing performance and security. Those interested should email info@digitalskillshub.org.uk.
