Hope for Food’s mission is to assist men, women and children in Bournemouth and the surrounding areas, who are either homeless or living in poverty. We provide fresh food at our community meals and parcels of food, good quality clothing, bedding and household goods, where needed. We aim to preserve the dignity of those we try to help and treat everyone with the utmost respect and without judgement. We try to help anyone who reaches out to us in need.
In the midst of the current cost of living crisis more and more people are struggling just to keep their families fed so we’re working harder than ever to support vulnerable families and individuals by providing the basics and a little bit more if we can.
People can become homeless for any number of reasons including family breakdown, bereavement, mental health problems, alcohol or drug abuse, unemployment or a move from institutionalised living. Our aim is to provide those who may find themselves in this situation with food and a few of the basic essentials of life that most of us take for granted, without judgement and with dignity and mutual respect.
